All Pueraria Mirifica is not created equal.  The whole idea is to obtain the highest levels of  Deoxymiroestrol and Miroestrol and other secondary and tertiary actives.  What is miroestrol?   Miroestrol is one of the principal phytoestrogens that are considered an active ingredient in Pueraria Mirifica.  Miroestrol is roughly equal to 17 beta estradiol and approximately 500 times more potent than bio-identical hormones!  Deoxymiroestrol is 10 times more potent than 17 beta estradiol and 10 times more potent than miroestrol.   Although there is not as much deoxymiroestrol as miroestrol, in high quality pueraria miifica it makes the dominant estrogenic contribution.   Wild Pueraria Mirifica may have little or no deoxymiroestrol or miroestrol!  Why not standardized extracts made from wild plants?  Although some have claimed to standardize miroestrol, it is unlikely that this is the case.  To actually do a credible job in standardizing pueraria mirifica a lot more science needs to be done.   It would be equally important to standardize the spin sterols, deoxymiroestrol, kwakhurin and the other 15 or 20 secondary actives in the plant.  To this date no one in the world can do that.   The problem with using "the best guess" (LCMS) method for one key active you really do not know what you have ended up with.  Safety is key.  A farmed standard, uniform superior genetics, nutrient enrichment , length of harvest cycle is critical  for consistent  high quality Pueraria Mirifica.  For more information:

Abstract

Aim: To study the effect of Butea superba on erectile dysfunction (ED) in Thai males. Methods: A 3-month randomized double-blind clinical trial was carried out in volunteers with ED, aged 30 years ~ 70 years, to evaluate the therapeutic effect of the crude preparation of Butea superba tubers on ED. Results: There was a significant upgrading in 4 of the 5 descriptive evaluations of the IIEF-5 questionnaire. Estimation of the sexual record indicated that 82.4 % of the patients exhibited noticeable improvement. Hematology and blood chemistry analysis revealed no apparent change. Conclusion: The plant preparation appears to improve the erectile function in ED patients without apparent toxicity.
